An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand MiniArt. It captures the Soviet GAZ-AA light truck converted for railroad service, with wheels for running on rails. The set belongs to the range with a richly worked-out interior and also contains photo-etched parts and clear parts. It is a very involved build with a high parts count, suitable for more experienced modelers.
The GAZ-AA was a Soviet truck with a payload of 1.5 tons, built under Ford license and nicknamed poltorka. During the Second World War it served in enormous numbers on the most varied duties. The version modified to run on the railroad made it possible to patrol and to move along the tracks in the rear and in the front-line zone alike.
Work up and paint the engine, the chassis and the cab before you close the body up. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). For the patina use washes and pigments that bring out mud and dust effects on the chassis and the wheels. The engraved detail and the small controls come out well with gentle dry-brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
