An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy howitzer of twenty-one centimeter caliber, in 1:35 scale. This is not a vehicle but a towed weapon, and an exceptionally large one, so the finished model is no smaller than an ordinary tank in the same scale.
The Mörser 18 was a heavy artillery weapon meant to destroy fortifications and to fire deep into the enemy rear. Its peculiarity was a double recoil system: the recoil was absorbed both by the barrel in its cradle and by the whole upper carriage sliding on the lower one. Thanks to this the weapon did not jump when it fired, even though it was loaded with a heavy projectile. For transport it was broken down into two parts, the barrel and the carriage, which were moved separately and joined together again in the firing position.
The carriage and the recoil mechanism have a lot of parts that have to stay in line, so assemble them on a flat surface and let them cure. Clean the mold seam off the barrel carefully. Decide in advance whether you will build the model in the firing position or in the travel position, because the parts sit differently. An artillery subject takes dust and mud well on the wheels and on the lower part of the carriage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
