Plastic kit of the German 2 cm Flakvierling 38 auf Sd.Kfz.7/1 (Trumpeter) in 1:35 scale — the quadruple anti-aircraft gun on a half-track chassis.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the self-propelled anti-aircraft mount in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter, in the early version. It combines the Sd.Kfz.7 half-track tractor with the quadruple 20 mm gun (Flakvierling 38) on a traversing mount. The package contains parts in gray plastic, individual link tracks, a photo-etched sheet, rubber tires and the Sd.Anhänger 51 ammunition trailer.
The Sd.Kfz.7/1 came about by mounting the quadruple 20 mm anti-aircraft gun on the proven eight-ton half-track tractor. The four barrels gave a high density of fire against low-flying aircraft and, at a pinch, against ground targets as well. The vehicle was built from 1940 and, as the threat from Allied aviation grew, its production gradually increased; several hundred were built in all, accompanying mobile units and protecting them from air attack.
The load bed with its traversing mount can be built so that it turns and with the side panels folded down into the firing position, which gives the model a dynamic look. Finish the engine and the running gear before you close up the body, and seat the individual link tracks with a natural sag. A primer, an airbrush and thin cement for plastic are the way to go; glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Bring out the barrels and the mount with washes, and bring the running gear and the trailer to life with pigments for dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
