A plastic kit of the German 3.7 cm Flak 43 auf Sd.Kfz.7/2 (Trumpeter) in 1:35 scale — the later 37 mm anti-aircraft gun on a half-track.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the self-propelled anti-aircraft mount in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. Here the eight-ton Sd.Kfz.7 half-track tractor carries the more modern 37 mm Flak 43 anti-aircraft gun on a rotating mount. The package contains parts in gray plastic, individual-link tracks, a photo-etched sheet, rubber tires and the Sd.Anhänger 52 ammunition trailer.
The Flak 43 was the later version of the German 37 mm anti-aircraft gun, with a higher rate of fire and a simpler design that was cheaper to produce than the earlier Flak 37. Combined with the eight-ton half-track it created a mobile anti-aircraft platform used at the end of the war against the growing Allied air forces. In the late phase these vehicles received an armored cab to protect the crew from splinters and small arms fire, because they were increasingly engaging ground targets as well.
Build the mount so that it can be traversed and fold the sides down into the firing position for a faithful combat look. Finish the engine and the running gear before you close the hull, and seat the individual-link tracks with a natural sag. A primer, an airbrush and thin cement for plastic are recommended; glue the photo-etched parts with super glue. Bring out the gun and the mount with washes, bring the running gear to life with pigments for dust and mud and lighten the edges with a dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
