1:35 German Geschutzwagen is a kit of the German gun car of the BP 42 armored train from Trumpeter, supplied with a length of track and a ballast bed as well.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the German gun car in 1:35 scale. The subject is the artillery car of the BP 42 type of armored train with its distinctive ten-sided rotating turret. The set contains around 193 parts, one photo-etched fret and, on top of that, a length of track with a ballast bed, so the finished car has something to stand on and you do not have to build the base yourself.
Armored trains of the BP 42 type were created from 1942 and were used mainly to protect railroad lines and to escort transports in the east. A train was made up of several types of cars, among them exactly these gun cars with a rotating turret, a command car, an infantry car and an anti-aircraft car. The armament consisted largely of captured guns and howitzers, so individual trains differed from one another. The turret with its howitzer was seated on the car so that it could fire to both sides of the line.
It pays to glue the long straight surfaces of the sides step by step and to keep checking that the car has not ended up twisted. Paint the track and the bed separately; rust on the rails and dust in the ballast come out better when you can reach them without the model in the way. On the large surfaces of the sides, color modulation and rust streaks running down below the rivets and joints work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
