An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light staff car (Stabswagen) in the model 1937 form, in 1:35 scale from Bronco. The real subject is a civilian Opel passenger car adapted for army service, here in the form of a cabriolet with a folding roof. The roof can be built folded down to reveal the broken-up interior with its doors and seats; the box also contains jerrycans, clear parts for the windows and light armament.
During the Second World War the German army made extensive use of adapted civilian passenger cars as staff and liaison vehicles for officers. Elegant Opel saloons and cabriolets of the late 1930s served to carry commanders in the rear areas and closer to the front. Their comfortable bodywork and impressive appearance made them a typical image of Wehrmacht staff mobility.
Finish and paint the interior and the dashboard before you fit the body and the glazing. Use thin cement for plastic and bond the fine parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer and paint with an airbrush; the car can carry civilian gloss shades as well as military gray or dark yellow. Pick out the chrome and the window frames with metallic paint, and a discreet wash and dust will give the car life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
