An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Type 170V staff car in the Cabriolet B version, in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. Besides the plastic parts, the box holds a small photo-etched fret and decals for several marking options.
The Mercedes-Benz Type 170V was a civilian passenger car built from the middle of the nineteen thirties, which became one of the most widespread German cars of its day. The Cabriolet B version was the open two-door variant with a folding fabric roof and side windows recessed into the doors. During the Second World War the Type 170V was widely called up for military service as a staff and liaison car.
On cars it pays to finish and paint the interior, the dashboard and the engine compartment before you close the body up. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Lay down a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. Both the plain gray and the civilian schemes come to life with restrained weathering: fine washes bring out the panel lines, and dust pigments on the underbody and the fenders give the car its truth. Consider whether you will raise the roof or fold it, because it changes the look of the interior.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
