This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from MiniArt represents the Grant Mk.II medium tank, that is the American M3 in the form with a cast turret of British design. The set offers fine surface modeling, clear parts, photo-etched parts and workable tracks, complemented by British equipment and decals for several options.
The Grant was created by reworking the American M3 medium tank to British requirements. The characteristic lower cast turret with a radio in the rear bustle reduced the overall height and let the radio operator work directly in the turret. The main 75 mm gun stayed in the side casemate of the hull, complemented by a 37 mm gun in the turret. Grants proved themselves above all in the fighting in North Africa, where their firepower was able to face the German and Italian vehicles of the day.
Assemble the running gear and the suspension before you close up the hull. Glue the workable tracks in sections and let them cure. Use thin cement on the plastic and spray the model with an airbrush over a base coat. Bring the desert camouflage to life with edge highlighting, washes in the hollows and dust pigments on the running gear; the British fittings add to the credibility of the scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
