A plastic kit of the Japanese Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank with the long barrel (IJA) in 1:35 scale from FineMolds.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank in the long-barrel version from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds in 1:35 scale. This variant corresponds to the machine with a longer and more powerful 75 mm gun: compared with the basic Chi-Nu it is a stronger gun for fighting at greater range. The model is unassembled, meant to be glued and painted; the box contains plastic parts including the parts of the long barrel and the turret, instructions and decals.
The Type 3 Chi-Nu was the most powerful Japanese medium tank built in series during the Second World War. It came about as a response to the Allied M4 Sherman tanks and received a 75 mm gun in a bigger turret, meaning substantially more effective armament than the older Japanese medium tanks with their 47 mm gun. It was built at the end of the war and the vehicles were held mainly for the defense of the home islands. The long-barrel version represents the late form of this subject with the greatest firepower, with a lengthened 75 mm gun.
Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement drawn into the joints by capillary action. Assemble and paint the running gear before closing the hull and fitting the turret, because once it is glued, access tends to be limited. Give the long barrel attention when cleaning up the mold seam so that it stays straight. Apply the primer and the paint ideally with an airbrush. For weathering use washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
