A kit of the Soviet ISU-152-2 heavy self-propelled gun with the long-range BL-10 cannon in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The ISU-152-2 grows out of the chassis of the Soviet ISU series of heavy self-propelled guns, that is from running gear derived from a heavy tank. It has no rotating turret: the whole weapon is built into a fixed casemate in the front part of the hull, which allows a substantially heavier cannon to be carried than a turreted solution would bear. Into this space went the long-range BL-10 cannon of 152.4 mm caliber with a strikingly long barrel and with a muzzle brake, which gives the vehicle a very characteristic silhouette. The type stayed in trials and never saw series production.
The kit captures the vehicle in 1:35 scale, that is in the most widespread scale for ground equipment, the one for which you will find the most accessories and figures. The dominant feature of the build is the long barrel, which reaches far out in front of the bow and calls for care when the finished model is handled. Verify the exact range of parts and the number of marking options in the manufacturer's catalog sheet.
Glue the barrel on at the very end of the build, so that it does not get in your way. Finish and paint the tracks and the running gear before you fit the fenders and the equipment on the hull. Wash and degrease the model before painting. Work the wear and the layer of dust from the bottom upward, the way dirt really settles on a vehicle.
Paints, glue and other building material are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
