An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese self-propelled howitzer Type 99 in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The package contains parts for the hull and the turret, individual link tracks and a photo-etched sheet; for the exact parts count follow the instructions.
The Type 99 is a Japanese tracked self-propelled howitzer of 155 mm caliber operated by the Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF). It serves artillery units for fire support and for counter-battery work and replaced the older Type 75 self-propelled system. The main supplier was the Japanese company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which developed the main weapon and the turret.
An extensive model with individual link tracks calls for patience; finish the running gear before you close up the hull. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, even the surface out with a primer and apply the paint with an airbrush. You can bring the modern Japanese camouflage scheme to life with gentle toning, washes and restrained dust.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
