An injection-molded plastic kit of the recovery version of the light Mercedes-Benz L1500S truck in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. The box contains a set of plastic sprues, a clear part for the glazing, photo-etched parts and a metal chain for the towing gear, so the model offers a richly laid out chassis and body.
The Mercedes-Benz L1500S was a German truck of the 1.5-ton class powered by a six-cylinder inline gasoline engine. It appeared during the Second World War and thanks to its durability served on into the postwar years, among other places in the American and Soviet occupation zones, where it helped rebuild infrastructure. The recovery variant was fitted with towing gear for removing damaged or abandoned vehicles.
First assemble and adjust the frame, the axles and the running gear, and only then close the cab and the body. Photo-etched parts and the metal chain hold best with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. Spray the whole model with a primer before painting, paint with an airbrush and finish the weathering with washes and pigments for the mud and dust effects typical of working service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
