It is neither a vehicle nor military equipment, but a stand-alone diorama accessory that brings a workshop, a factory or a field repair base to life. MiniArt is known for the fine detail of its accessory kits and this lathe is no exception.
A lathe is a machine tool used for working metal and wooden parts. In a diorama scene it fills out the setting of support units, repair shops and production halls and gives them credibility and a sense of scale. It works well together with figures of workers or mechanics and with further workshop equipment.
Use thin cement for plastic and separate the small parts carefully. Apply a primer before painting, ideally with an airbrush. For a faithful look, metallic shades on the machining parts, dark washes into the recesses and fine rust and greasy traces of oil all work well. Chipped paint on the body of the machine and dust on the base give the lathe a worn, used look.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other scenic items are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
