The set captures the iconic vessel of the Allied landing operations with its hinged bow ramp. The manufacturer also states a crew and soldiers in the box, decals for two color versions and accessories such as life rings, fuel tanks and ropes. It is a striking large model of a vessel.
The LCM 3 was an American mechanized landing craft of the Second World War, used to carry wheeled vehicles, light armored equipment and supplies from ships to the shore. With its hinged bow ramp it allowed the load to be put ashore quickly straight onto the beach. These vessels became an inseparable part of the Allied amphibious operations from the Mediterranean to Normandy, and thousands of them were built.
Assemble the hull carefully and fill the joints so that it keeps its shape; decide in advance whether you will put the model on a stand or into a diorama with a water surface. Paint and fit the deck, the ramp and the equipment (tanks, rings, ropes) according to the instructions. Glue the plastic parts with modeling cement for plastic. After the primer coat and the airbrushed base color, bring the deck and the sides to life with a wash and suggest the waterline and traces of wear.
