Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Canadian main battle tank Leopard C2 MEXAS with a bulldozer blade in 1:35 scale from the maker Meng. The model captures the upgraded version with modular add-on armor and a dozer blade as it was deployed in combat conditions.
The Leopard C2 is a Canadian tank derived from the German Leopard 1 with an upgraded turret and fire control system. In the MEXAS version it received modular composite add-on armor developed by the German company IBD Deisenroth, which markedly increased the protection of the crew. Vehicles modified in this way and fitted with a blade were deployed from 2006 in Afghanistan as part of the ISAF forces, where the blade served to clear obstacles, build positions and do earthworks. The combination of a proven chassis, an upgraded turret and add-on armor kept the older design combat-capable even in the demanding conditions of a modern deployment.
Finish the running gear before closing the hull; the model tends to come with working suspension and flexible vinyl tracks, which make assembly easier. The blade can usually be built in either the raised or the lowered position. For a faithful look reach for the shades of NATO camouflage, bring out the removable armor panels and finish with dust, mud and chipped paint on the edges using washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
