Large photo-etched letters 1:35 from Royal Model. An alphabet in several typefaces for your own signs, boards and lettering in a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
An alphabet etched from thin metal sheet by the Italian brand Royal Model. On the fret there are letters in several typefaces and in several sizes, so a company sign, a street name, a unit designation or a shop board can be put together from them.
A decal applied to a surface is flat and disappears in a side light. An etched letter has thickness, casts a shadow of its own, and can be set on spacers so that it stands out from the wall like a real raised sign. Gilding, chrome or chipped enamel also look convincing on it, because the base really is metal. It serves just as well for making raised lettering on a monument or on a memorial plaque.
The characters are nipped out with cutting pliers and the remains of the sprue are leveled with a file. Draw the layout out in pencil in advance or print a guide strip of paper and glue to it; spacing estimated by hand shows up at once. Cyanoacrylate applied on a pin holds them. They can be painted before fitting or after, always over a primer for metals. Anyone who wants to save time will paint the whole fret before nipping and retouch only the cut edges.
The letters are supplied on a fret, unpainted and with nothing to glue them with.
