Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M102 light towed howitzer of 105 mm caliber in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The model makes it possible to build the gun in the firing as well as the travel position and contains a metal gun barrel with a spring to suggest the recoil, rubber wheels and several 105 mm artillery rounds. It is a stand-alone artillery model, not a vehicle.
The M102 is an American light towed howitzer of 105 mm caliber, introduced in the 1960s as a replacement for the older M101 type. It was notable for its low weight, its circular firing platform allowing rapid traverse through a full circle, and its ability to be carried by helicopter or dropped by parachute. It was used in the Vietnam War, in the first Gulf War and in later conflicts in Iraq. Thanks to its low weight it suited airborne and airmobile units in particular.
Fit the carriage and the firing platform together carefully, so that the gun stands level. Degrease the metal gun barrel before gluing. Treat the base with a primer and spray American olive green, or a desert shade according to the deployment. Bring out the engraving and the small details with washes and add dust pigments to the lower areas. Consider whether you will build the gun in the firing or the travel position.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
