An injection-molded plastic kit of the M4A4 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model. It is a modern, richly broken-up kit with fine detail; you finish the vehicle in a period rendering with the decals provided.
The M4A4 was the version of the Sherman with a lengthened hull, which came about because of the bulky Chrysler A57 Multibank powerplant, an assembly of coupled gasoline engines. The longer hull also called for a revised spacing of the road wheels. Most M4A4 vehicles went to the British Army under Lend-Lease, where they served under the designation Sherman V and took part in the fighting in North Africa and in northwestern Europe. The Sherman was the most widespread American medium tank of the Second World War.
On a tank, assemble the running gear and any interior before you close the hull. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the fine and photo-etched parts with super glue. A primer unifies the surface, and an airbrush makes transitions and toning easier. For a realistic look use washes into the recesses, dry brushing on the edges and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
