An injection-molded plastic model of the Israeli main battle tank Merkava Mk.3D in its early form (Early), in 1:35 scale from the Meng brand. It is a new tooling with a detailed turret and hull; besides the plastic parts the package also contains photo-etched metal and clear parts.
The Merkava is a family of Israeli main battle tanks with a characteristic layout in which the engine is placed at the front and serves as additional protection for the crew. The Mk.3 version brought thicker armor, modular protection and a 120 mm smoothbore gun; the Mk.3D form was given further changes to the armor and the equipment. Merkava tanks have been deployed in a number of conflicts in the Middle East and are designed with the emphasis on crew survival.
With a tank it pays to assemble and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before the hull is closed up and the side skirts are fitted. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting and spray the sandy gray of Israeli vehicles with an airbrush in thin coats. Volume is added by edge highlighting, dark washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis and the tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
