A cement mixer is one of those small objects that represent nothing on their own but immediately explain what is going on in a scene. Where a mixer stands, something is being built or repaired. The package offers nineteen polyurethane parts and a photo-etched sheet to go with them, so the model comes about complete with the thin parts that would be hard to make from a casting.
It fits the building site of a fortification, a bunker under construction, the yard of a damaged house and the rear area of an engineer unit. A scene at rest is also interesting: the machine parked against a wall, the drum dried out with a residue of mortar, a plank and a bucket scattered around. It is exactly such a still life that gives a diorama the civilian dimension usually lost among vehicles and weapons.
Avoid placing it in the middle of combat action, by contrast. Construction equipment in the middle of a firefight looks accidental and draws attention away from the main subject. It works far better as an object in the second plane, which gives the scene context.
When painting, layering helps: a base in the shade of worn metal, a thin layer of dust over it and finally light smears of dried mix on the rim of the drum. It is those smears that turn the model into a machine somebody actually used.
The package deals with the machine itself; neither a base nor the surrounding equipment is in it.
