Metal numerals in the large size 1:35 from Royal Model. Photo-etched sheet for house numbers, dials and machine plates.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains numerals etched from metal in several typefaces and sizes. It complements the same range as the photo-etched alphabet and will serve anywhere a legible number is wanted on a model: a house number plate, a vehicle number, a date on a facade or the maker's plate of a machine.
Tactical numbers on armored vehicles are normally done with a decal or a stencil, but raised metal suits other places: enamel signs, the dials of large clocks, fuel dispensers and the facades of houses. A number on a facade is one of those details a viewer instinctively looks for, and its absence gives a building away as a model. It also does good service on the door of a hotel room or on the lockers in a workshop changing room.
The metal is thin and bends easily, so cut the numerals on a surface rather than in the air. If you need a shape curved around a post, anneal the sheet over a flame first and let it cool, and it will soften and stop springing back. Before applying a shade, roughen the surface and use a primer for metals. Finished characters can be brought out with dark streaking, which draws their outline against the background.
The set is unpainted; prepare your own glue for attaching the numerals.
