This premium injection-molded plastic kit from Rye Field Model represents the late version of the German medium tank Panther Ausf.G. It is a demanding kit for advanced modelers with complete internal equipment, workable tracks and so-called cut-away parts, that is cut-open sections of the turret and hull that let you show the well-worked inside of the vehicle. The detail is exceptionally rich.
During the Second World War the Panther was among the most capable German medium tanks. The Ausf.G version was the last mass-production variant and brought a simplified and strengthened hull. The vehicle combined heavy sloped armor, a long 75 mm gun with excellent penetrating power and good mobility. It became an opponent of Allied tanks on both the Western and the Eastern Front and remains one of the icons of armored vehicles.
The interior is the most demanding and the most interesting part, so assemble, paint and weather the engine and fighting compartments before you close anything up. Thanks to the cut-open sections of the turret and hull every detail of the inside will show, so it pays to pick it out with color filters and a subtle wash. Assemble and paint the workable tracks separately and fit them at the very end. Use liquid cement on the plastic, sand the joints, apply a primer and paint with an airbrush. Finish the exterior with washes in the engraving and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
