This injection-molded plastic kit from Dragon captures the German Panther medium tank in the Ausf.D version with Zimmerit applied, in 1:35 scale. The model reproduces the characteristic hull with its sloped armor, the turret and the running gear, and faithfully conveys the texture of the Zimmerit layer. The kit is intended to be glued and painted.
The Panther was among the best-known German medium tanks of the Second World War. It combined strong frontal armor, good mobility and a powerful long gun. The Ausf.D version was the first production variant of the type. Zimmerit was a paste-like protective compound applied to the armor to prevent magnetic anti-tank charges from sticking; its characteristic ridged texture is a prominent recognition feature of many vehicles of this period.
On the plastic use liquid cement. Finish and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before you close the hull. A primer coat, an airbrush for the base shade and then washes and pigments, which will accentuate the texture of the Zimmerit, the weathering and the mud effects, are recommended. The Zimmerit texture stands out after dry brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
