Pz.Beob.Wg.V Panther Ausf.D is a plastic kit of the German artillery observation vehicle on the chassis of the Panther in 1:35 scale from the firm Dragon.

The injection-molded plastic kit captures the little usual observation version of the Panther tank from the maker Dragon. The assembly grows out of the hull and the running gear of the Panther version D, supplemented with a reworked turret without the main weapon. The model is made of classic injection-molded plastic; photo-etched parts and soft tracks or individual track links tend to be part of it, and the exact contents of the package should be taken from the enclosed instructions.
The Pz.Beob.Wg.V (Panzerbeobachtungswagen) was an observation and control version for the artillery. On a number of vehicles the main gun was replaced by a dummy barrel and the front of the turret was blanked off, a machine gun mount was added and the optical and signals equipment was extended, rod antennas included. The vehicle served to direct fire and to pass on coordinates, while it kept the armor and the mobility of the basic Panther.
It pays to assemble and fine-tune the running gear before the hull is closed. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, spray the surface with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. For a faithful look, filters, saturating washes into the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects are suitable.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
