The Pz.Sfl.IVb (Sd.Kfz.165/1) in 1:35 scale from Dragon, an injection-molded plastic kit of a rare German self-propelled gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Sfl.IVb (Sd.Kfz.165/1) self-propelled gun in 1:35 scale from the Smart Kit line by Dragon. The kit uses largely new tooling and faithfully captures the distinctively shaped open gun superstructure and the running gear with its larger road wheels.
The Pz.Sfl.IVb was a German attempt at a self-propelled chassis for the 10.5 cm field howitzer (le.FH 18). The open superstructure, unprotected from above, carried the howitzer with limited traverse. Only a small trial batch was built, which the Germans tested in combat on the Eastern Front. Given the low number built, it is a fairly rare subject.
The open superstructure reveals the casemate and the gun, so assemble and paint the inside before you close it. Spray the base with primer and the camouflage with an airbrush. Accentuate the engraving with a wash and the edges with dry brushing, and apply pigments for dust and mud to the running gear. Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
