Injection-molded plastic kit model of the South Korean K2 Black Panther main battle tank (in the form for the army of the Republic of Korea) in 1:35 scale from Academy. It is a modern mold with a faithfully rendered 120 mm gun and machine gun. According to the instructions, the model can be built with or without add-on armor. The box also contains photo-etched parts and colored lenses for the sensors.
The K2 Black Panther is a modern South Korean main battle tank that followed on from the older K1 type and relied on as much domestic technology as possible. It is armed with a 120 mm smoothbore gun with an autoloader and stands out for its advanced fire control system, its sensors and its modern protection. The aim of the design was high accuracy and the ability to hit a target with the first shot. It ranks among the top tanks of its generation.
With armor it pays to assemble and paint the running gear before you close up the hull. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic with liquid modeling cement. Lay down a base coat (primer) before painting and spray the base shade with an airbrush. Bring out the modern Korean camouflage with a fine wash in the engraved lines, pick the edges out with a dry brush and finish the lower areas with dust and mud pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
