1:35 Railway station

Railway station in 1:35 scale

This is a building for a diorama, not a vehicle model. A station building is an exceptionally rewarding subject for a military diorama, because it explains the action: troops moved through a station, hardware was loaded, people waited, repaired and said their goodbyes. The building gives the scene a place and a time and at the same time serves as a backdrop against which the hardware and the figures stand out. The 1:35 scale matches ordinary models of military vehicles and figures, so the station can be combined with practically anything from that class.

Building and painting tips

• First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry thoroughly.
• Assemble the walls on a flat surface and keep checking the right angles.
• Bond with super glue and apply a base coat before painting.
• Paint the masonry and the plaster in layers from dark to light, because a single-color wall looks flat.
• Concentrate the weathering near the ground and under the eaves, because that is where dirt settles in reality too.
• Add signs, posters and small details to the building, because only then does it come to life.

Who it is for

The building suits builders of military dioramas who want to give the scene action and a setting, and modelers who build larger ensembles. The work is not complicated but it is lengthy, and it repays patience in painting the surfaces, because the credibility of the building rests precisely on them.

It is not a model of a vehicle or of hardware. Paints, glue, a base and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
