Responsibility details are not available.
A large injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet 30N6E engagement radar, code-named Flap Lid, which is part of the S-300 air defense system. The model in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter is richly broken down and, according to the manufacturer, contains metal and photo-etched parts, hollow rubber tires and clear parts for the glazing. It is a large and detailed project with a high parts count.
The 30N6E Flap Lid is a multifunction engagement radar with a phased array used within the S-300 surface-to-air missile system (SA-10 in Western designation). It handles search, target tracking and the guidance of surface-to-air missiles. The whole unit is carried on a heavy wheeled chassis and deploys its antenna system into the operating position, which makes it one of the visually most impressive elements of air defense.
Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the metal and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue; work in subassemblies and think the sequence through on the antenna section. Finish the suspension and the chassis before closing them up. Apply primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. Bring the large areas to life with gentle emphasis on the panel lines, and build the final weathering from washes and dust pigments, above all on the chassis and the tires.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
