This injection-molded plastic kit from the Chinese manufacturer Trumpeter in 1:35 scale represents the Soviet rocket launcher system 9P138 on the chassis of the off-road truck ZIL-131. The set is richly detailed, it contains a photo-etched fret and it is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted model.
The 9P138 is a lighter variant of the salvo rocket launcher from the BM-21 Grad family, mounted on the three-axle off-road vehicle ZIL-131 with all-wheel drive. It carries a smaller number of launch tubes than the classic large Grad and it was intended for mobile fire support. The ZIL-131 was a versatile army truck of Soviet production, used in many roles.
On military equipment, assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the pack of launch tubes before you close the cab and the bed. Liquid cement for plastic and an airbrush will help toward clean joints and an even finish. Fine-tune the dust, the mud and the wear with washes and pigments; bring out the metal parts of the launcher with dry brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
