An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian tank support combat vehicle BMPT Obj. 199 Ramka in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The box is listed as two forms in one box and corresponds to the machines shown at the equipment parades of 2013 and 2015. It contains more than eleven hundred parts on twenty-two sprues, three photo-etched frets, brass wire, polyethylene inserts and one hundred and eighty-eight individual track links. Both the upper and the lower part of the hull are molded with a slide mold.
The BMPT was created on the chassis of the T-72 tank in response to the losses of armored vehicles in urban fighting. The task of the machine is to cover tanks and infantry against targets for which a tank turret is too slow. The weapon suite consists of a pair of thirty-millimeter 2A42 cannons with a high rate of fire and launchers for Ataka-T anti-tank guided missiles on the sides of the main armament. Its unusual silhouette and heavy armor protection gave the vehicle the nickname Terminator.
Finish and paint the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close the hull up. Glue the individual track links in longer runs and let them dry directly on the wheels, so that they keep a natural sag. An airbrush and a thin base coat work well on the large surfaces; complete the weathering with dust pigments and a dark wash in the recesses.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
