A detailed plastic kit of the Soviet T-62 medium tank in the version with BDD add-on armor (Mod.1984) in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The kit is based on the upgrade of the Mod.1972 vehicle and offers the characteristic shaped add-on armor on the front of the turret, nicknamed the eyebrows. In the package you will find a large number of parts, individual track links, a turned aluminum gun barrel, photo-etched parts and wire for the tow cable. The model can be built in olive as well as desert camouflage.
The T-62 was a Soviet medium tank introduced in the 1960s, the first production tank with a large-caliber smoothbore gun (115 mm). The version with BDD add-on armor from the 1980s was given layered armor blocks on the turret and the nose that increased protection against shaped-charge projectiles. Upgraded T-62s served in a number of conflicts long after newer types had been introduced.
Assembling the individual track links calls for patience; glue the aluminum gun barrel and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The model stands out in Soviet green or in desert camouflage with a wash into the recesses and pigments on the running gear for mud and dust effects. Bring out the layered BDD armor with a dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
