An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-72A main battle tank in the 1983 production form, in 1:35 scale. This period differs from older machines in details of the turret armor, the equipment on the hull and the stowage brackets, so it is a sub-version built in its own right, not just a different decal sheet.
The T-72 was a Soviet main battle tank designed as a counterpart that could be fielded in numbers against more expensive and more complex machines. It carries a 125 mm smoothbore gun with an autoloader, thanks to which a crew of three is enough and the turret can be low and small. Power comes from a diesel twelve-cylinder engine. The A version brought, among other things, thicker frontal armor on the turret and new gunnery instruments. The tank was built in enormous numbers and served all over the world in various licensed forms.
Finish and paint the running gear before you fit the side plates and the rubber skirts. Soviet green will take marked color modulation, because the large smooth areas of the turret otherwise look flat. Run a dark wash into the recesses and put earth pigments on the treads and the lower hull. Paint the tow cable and the tools off the model and fit them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
