Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy tank destroyer Sd.Kfz.164 in 1:35 scale from Dragon. The vehicle is known by the names Hornisse, meaning hornet, and Nashorn, meaning rhinoceros. The set tends to be completed with photo-etched parts and individual track links; the exact package contents differ between editions.
The Nashorn combined the Geschützwagen III/IV chassis with the powerful 8.8 cm PaK 43 anti-tank gun with its long barrel. That gun could destroy Allied tanks at long range, before they even came within their own range. The open fighting compartment, however, gave the crew only light armor, so the vehicle was powerful in firepower but vulnerable. In 1944 Hitler had the original designation Hornisse changed to Nashorn.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. The open superstructure draws attention to the interior and the gun cradle, so finish and paint them before covering them. A primer and an airbrush are recommended; complete a Dunkelgelb base with stripes or patches of green and brown. You can create weathering with mud and dust using washes and pigments, and bring the metal surfaces to life with fine rubbing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
