The Asuka brand (formerly Tasca) is renowned for excellent accuracy and fit of the parts; the package tends to be completed with photo-etched parts and flexible band tracks. It is a precise kit for modelers who will appreciate fine detail and a trouble-free build.
The Sherman Firefly was the British conversion of the American M4 Sherman medium tank, armed with the powerful QF 17-pounder gun, which as one of the few Allied tanks was able to take on the German Panthers and Tigers. The Ic version was based on the M4 hull (Sherman I), here in the composite form combining a cast front and a welded rear part of the hull. The long barrel with its counterweight is an unmistakable mark of these machines from the fighting after the landings in Normandy.
Finish the running gear and the interior items before closing the hull up. Fit the band tracks once the running gear is painted, and glue the photo-etched parts with super glue. British khaki will show at its best after spraying with an airbrush, with modulation, highlighted edges and a patina of wash and pigments. Keep the long barrel straight and protect it from damage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
