A highly detailed injection-molded plastic kit of a Soviet light truck of the 1.5 ton class with the M-4 Maxim anti-aircraft machine gun, from the manufacturer MiniArt in 1:35 scale. The package holds a quantity of sprues with parts, a photo-etched fret and clear parts, two crew figures and a rich decal sheet. The engine is faithfully rendered as well, and a number of features, including the load bed, the doors and the hood, can be built open or closed.
The Soviet truck of the 1.5 ton class was one of the most widespread means of transport of the Red Army. A simple and durable machine, it served to carry men and materiel and, in many conversions, as a weapons carrier. Here it carries the M-4 anti-aircraft machine gun, a quadruple mount with coupled Maxim machine guns, used for defense against low-flying aircraft. This combination of an ordinary truck and improvised air defense was typical of the Eastern Front.
The kit has a great many fine parts, so follow the instructions and do not hurry. Paint the engine and the cab interior before you cover them up. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Lay a primer under the paint. For the patina use washes in the recesses and earth and dust pigments on the wheels, the fenders, the chassis and the load bed. Paint the figures separately; the quadruple mount is a rewarding feature to paint up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
