An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet heavy tank JS-1 from Trumpeter. The model in 1:35 scale offers a well-worked hull and turret assembly with parts molded using multi-part tooling for faithful shapes, plus a photo-etched part. The kit is intended for modelers interested in the armor of the Second World War.
The JS-1, named after Joseph Stalin, was a Soviet heavy tank developed during the Second World War as an answer to the German heavy tanks. In its initial version it carried an 85 mm gun and served as a breakthrough weapon of the Red Army in the later phases of the war. It was the forerunner of a further developed line of heavy tanks.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched part with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish the running gear and any interior before closing the hull. Use washes and pigments to suggest mud and dust for the patina, and apply the colors with an airbrush over a base coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
