An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet T-62M main battle tank in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the modernized T-62M version with add-on armor on the front of the turret and the hull. The exact part count and the decal schemes are given in the enclosed instructions.
The T-62 was a Soviet medium and later main battle tank developed on the basis of the T-55. Its main weapon was the 115 mm U-5TS smoothbore gun, with which it was among the first production tanks to carry a barrel of that type. It was in production from the 1960s and was used by a number of armies and in many conflicts. The T-62M version represents a later modernization - besides add-on armor the modernized machines received improvements to the fire control system and the power unit, so that the tank kept its combat value in the later years of its service.
With a tank it pays to assemble and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before the hull is closed up and the side skirts fitted - the less accessible places are then easier to paint and weather. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting and spray the base color with an airbrush in thin coats. Volume is added by picking out the edges (drybrushing), dark washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis, the wheels and the tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
