A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet armored recovery vehicle built on the chassis of the SU-122-54 self-propelled gun, from MiniArt. The set contains photo-etched parts, transparent parts, individual track links and decals for several marking options. All the hatches can be positioned open. It is an extensive kit for more experienced modelers.
Recovery vehicles were created by converting tank and gun chassis and served to tow damaged or bogged-down vehicles off the battlefield. This subject is based on the chassis of the postwar Soviet self-propelled gun SU-122-54, which itself was built on components of the T-54 tank series. The vehicle therefore combines a proven tracked chassis with recovery equipment.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the individual track links while they are still easy to reach. The positionable hatches allow a view inside. For the patina use dark washes in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear, as recovery vehicles are usually markedly dirty.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
