An injection-molded plastic kit from the Chinese manufacturer Trumpeter in 1:35 scale represents the StuG assault variant of the German super-heavy tank E-100. The set is large and richly broken up, contains a photo-etched part and is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted model.
The E-100 was a German project for a super-heavy tank from the end of the Second World War, one of the so-called paper panzers, that is designs that never got beyond the prototype stage and never entered series production. The StuG version offered here represents a hypothetical rendering of a tank destroyer on this chassis with a fixed superstructure instead of a turret. It is a what-if subject, popular among modelers of armor.
Given the size of the model, assemble and paint the running gear and the tracks before you finish the hull and the massive superstructure. Thin cement for plastic and tweezers help when fitting the small and photo-etched parts. Use a primer and an airbrush; on large surfaces, modulation, washes and a pigment patina emphasizing mud and dust effects come out well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
