A plastic kit of the German StuH 42 assault howitzer in the Ausf.G version, early production from May to June 1943, in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. The kit contains photo-etched and clear parts, individual track links and crew figures; the hatches can be built open or closed.
The StuH 42 (Sturmhaubitze 42) was an assault gun based on the StuG III chassis, armed with a 10.5 cm howitzer instead of the usual gun. It served for fire support of the infantry and for destroying fortified targets. The early production examples differ from the later versions in the details of the superstructure.
Finish the running gear and the individual tracks first. The crew figures bring the finished scene to life; paint them separately. An airbrush suits the German camouflage, and you can fine-tune the patina with washes and pigments. You can leave the hatches open and show the interior detail that way.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
