A plastic kit of the German assault gun StuH 42 Ausf. G in the late production version. The model from MiniArt stands out for rich detail: individual track links, photo-etched and clear parts, hatches buildable in the open and closed position and decals for several variants.
The StuH 42 (Sturmhaubitze 42) was created as a variant of the StuG III assault gun in which a 10.5 cm howitzer replaced the anti-tank gun. It gave the infantry strong fire support and destroyed fortifications and soft targets effectively. Built on the chassis of the Panzer III, the vehicle was used from 1942 until the end of the war; late examples shared simplified features with the StuG III Ausf. G series.
Given the number of small parts and photo-etched pieces, patience and thin cement for plastic come in handy. Assemble and weather the running gear before you finish the superstructure. Individual track links allow a natural sag. You bring out the relief of the welds and the surface with a wash, and the mud and dust effects with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
