An injection-molded plastic model of the command version of the German Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär als Befehlspanzer assault gun in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Dragon, in the early-series execution on the Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G chassis. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the package, go by the enclosed instructions.
The Brummbär (Sd.Kfz.166) was a heavy assault gun built on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. In a massive armored superstructure it carried the 15cm StuH 43 howitzer, intended for destroying fortifications and for supporting the infantry in urban fighting. The command execution (Befehlspanzer) was additionally equipped with extra radio equipment for leading a unit. The early pieces carried Zimmerit paste on their vertical surfaces against magnetic mines.
First finish the running gear and the underside of the hull. The large vertical surfaces of the superstructure are rewarding for Zimmerit as well as for three-tone camouflages applied with an airbrush. Washes will accentuate the welds and the edges, and pigments and a dry brush will add mud and dust effects as well as scuffed metal on the tracks and the short massive barrel of the howitzer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
