An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-55A medium tank in the early Mod.1965 version in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. This is the so-called Interior Kit with full internal equipment - the model has a detailed V-55 engine, a complete fighting and driver compartment, working torsion bars, individual track links and photo-etched parts. Decals for several finishes are included.
The T-55A was an improved variant of the T-55 tank introduced by the Soviet army in the 1960s. Above all it brought an anti-radiation liner protecting the crew, changes to the equipment and, in later production, a heavy anti-aircraft machine gun. The early Mod.1965 version corresponds to the initial form of the T-55A. The vehicle was powered by the V-55 diesel engine and carried a 100 mm gun; the T-54/55 family is among the most widespread tanks in history.
Because this is a model with a full interior, pay attention to building and painting the engine and fighting compartments step by step before you close the hull - otherwise a great many details will be hidden. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid plastic cement, and use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) for the fine photo-etched parts. Assemble the individual track links with a natural sag. Apply primer before painting, bring out the interior with a wash and drybrushing, and finish the exterior with pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
