The T-34/D-30 is a Syrian conversion that brought two well-known pieces of hardware together. The basis is the chassis of the Soviet T-34 medium tank, a machine of the Second World War, with the turret removed. In its place the vehicle carries a 122 mm D-30 howitzer in an open superstructure. A tank that could no longer hold its own in a head-on fight thus became a mobile artillery weapon able to fire at long range. The result looks unusual at first sight and that is exactly what makes it attractive to modelers.
This is a plastic kit in 1:35 scale, the most widely used scale for military vehicles, for which figures and diorama accessories are easy to find. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. How many parts the box contains, whether decals are enclosed and how many marking options it offers are given in the manufacturer's instructions and in the information on the box.
The open superstructure means that the inside of the vehicle will be visible, so it is worth finishing and painting the interior before the surrounding parts close it in. Assemble the running gear so that the road wheels sit in one plane. The sandy, dusty environment in which these machines served invites heavy weathering, but work in thin layers so that the shape stays visible.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
