An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E Tiger I heavy tank in its late production form, in 1:35 scale from Dragon. What makes it special is the Zimmerit molded directly onto the armor parts, which does away with laborious application by hand. The kit is usually complemented by photo-etched parts and further detail. Check the exact package contents and the decals against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War armed with the 8.8 cm KwK36 L/56 gun and protected by armor over a hundred millimeters thick. The late production form brought a series of changes, among them all-steel road wheels. Zimmerit was an anti-magnetic coating, a paste, applied to the armor, whose ridged surface stopped magnetic anti-tank mines from sticking. The Tiger was among the most feared tanks of its day.
Assemble and paint the running gear before the adjoining parts cover the access. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The molded-on Zimmerit will stand out once the camouflage is sprayed, if you bring out its ridged surface with dry-brushing and a wash. Add dust and mud effects in pigment on the tracks and the lower hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
