This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the maker Dragon captures the German Tiger I heavy tank in its mid-production variant. The essential advantage of the kit is the faithfully reproduced Zimmerit, the anti-magnetic paste, directly on the parts of the hull and the turret, so that creating its texture by hand is no longer needed. The package is usually supplemented with flexible tracks, which make assembling the running gear easier.
The Tiger I is one of the best known tanks of the Second World War. For armament it carried the feared 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun and a pair of machine guns, while its front armor reached a considerable thickness. The mid-production variant matches the vehicles from the turn of 1943 and 1944 and carries characteristic changes to the turret, the hull and the road wheels. Despite the relatively small number of units built, the Tiger won itself a legendary reputation for its firepower and its toughness.
You will appreciate the factory Zimmerit above all when painting: the texture only needs to be brought out with shades and a wash, without your having to create it yourself. Finish the running gear first, and only then close the hull. Spray the base coat with an airbrush, soften the transitions and bring the edges out. For weathering use a darker wash in the engraved lines and in the texture of the Zimmerit, chipping on the edges and earth pigments on the running gear and the underside.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
