The armored modification of the light 1/4-ton vehicle originated as a field solution by soldiers, who added steel plates to the vehicle to protect the crew during reconnaissance and patrol duty. They mainly protected the front and sides of the driver's compartment and were fitted with vision slits. Vehicles modified this way were used mainly toward the end of the Second World War for fast reconnaissance, supplemented by a heavy machine gun.
Glue the parts with thin liquid plastic cement, and the photo-etched elements with cyanoacrylate. Paint the running gear and interior before finishing the hull. Assemble the armor plates and machine gun carefully. After the base coat, highlight details with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments; an armored vehicle looks its best with accurate wear from demanding terrain.
