About product

U.S. Army G7105 4x4 1.5 t Panel Delivery Truck in 1:35 scale from MiniArt

The kit captures the American Chevrolet G7105 truck with all-wheel drive and a load capacity of 1.5 tons, that is, the variant with a closed panel body. It is an injection-molded plastic model in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer MiniArt, which has long focused on American trucks of the G-506 line. The exact contents of the package are given in the manufacturer's catalog.

The real subject

The Chevrolet G7105 belonged to the extensive family of 1.5-ton G-506 vehicles with all-wheel drive, which American industry supplied in large numbers during the Second World War. While the best known G7107 carried an open cargo bed, the G7105 received a closed panel body. Vehicles of this type served for supply, workshop, signals and staff tasks in the rear areas and close to the front alike, and in the framework of Allied deliveries they reached other armies as well.

Building and painting tips

On trucks it pays to build and clean up the chassis, the drivetrain and the cab before the body is closed up - afterwards you can no longer reach them. Glue the plastic parts with a thin cement for plastic, sand the joints over and even the whole model out with primer. The large flat surfaces of the panel body will appreciate spraying with an airbrush, because every brush stroke shows on them. Build the weathering up gradually: first a wash into the engraved lines and the shadows, then dust pigments onto the fenders, the wheels and the underside of the body.

Who the model is for

  • Modelers who collect Allied trucks of the Second World War in 1:35 scale
  • Builders of dioramas where the vehicle is complemented by figures, supply material or a workshop scene
  • Those interested in a less usual variant of the well known Chevrolet G-506 line
  • More experienced modelers - building a truck with a chassis calls for care

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

It is a kit of injection-molded plastic. The model has to be assembled, cleaned up and painted; glue and paints are not included in the package.

Both vehicles come from the same 1.5-ton line with all-wheel drive. The G7107 carries an open cargo bed, whereas the G7105 has a closed panel body.

For the plastic parts a thin modeling cement for plastic. For painting we recommend primer and an airbrush, and then the weathering with a wash into the shadows and dust pigments on the chassis.

Yes. Supply and workshop vehicles fill a scene out and at the same time let the main subject come through, so they combine very well with figures and cargo.
