An add-on set of the weapons and equipment of American infantry in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer MiniArt. It is not a kit of a vehicle or of figures but a set of small plastic parts with which you fit out figures, vehicle interiors and dioramas. It is exactly these small things that make the difference between a bare model and a scene that looks inhabited. The composition of the package and the number of pieces are shown in the illustration on the box.
Personal weapons and equipment are hard to replace with items of your own making in 1:35 scale, and small parts of this kind tend either to be simplified in vehicle kits or to be missing altogether. A separate set makes it possible to distribute the equipment over the hull, on the fenders, around figures or on the floor of a diorama, so that a scene gains both scale and a story. It can also be used to complete older kits whose molds date from a time when details of this kind were given less attention.
Cut the small parts off the sprue with a sharp cutter or with nippers, not by twisting, as otherwise a piece of the part will break away as well. Sand the sprue nubs down with a fine file. Before painting it is practical to leave the parts on the sprue or to glue them to a stick. Spray the base shade with an airbrush, then bring the fabric sections to life with several close tones, so that everything does not look as though it came out of one bucket. Bring the metal sections out with a dark wash and a fine rub of graphite or metallic paint. Straps and buckles stand out after a lighter color is drawn dry over the edges.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
