An injection-molded plastic kit of the air defense version of the LAV-AD wheeled vehicle in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the eight-wheel US Marine Corps vehicle with an air defense turret. The box contains parts in gray plastic, photo-etched sheet accessories and rubber tires.
The LAV-AD is the air defense version of the eight-wheel LAV vehicle, which serves in the United States Marine Corps. In its turret it carries a combination of a rapid-fire cannon and surface-to-air guided missiles, with which it provides short-range air defense for mobile units. The vehicle is based on the same wheeled platform as the other versions of the LAV-25 family.
Give attention to assembling the axles, the wheel suspension and the turret. Fit the tires only after the hull has been sprayed. Apply the base coat with an airbrush over a primer, and create the weathering with washes and pigments. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
